Plan For Your Next Computer Purchase
October 27, 2009 Filed Under: Computer & Electronics
I recently had to buy a new computer, but had a lot to think about finding out what I really needed. Did we need a laptop or desktop?
You may find yourself asking the same question if you’re in the market for a new computer, so here are a few ideas to think about before making your final decision.
With laptops there are a few immediate advantages that immediately come to mind. From my personal experience these revolve around some of the following points:
- Flexibility and mobility of laptops increases access time
- Light weight so easy to travel with
- Easily moved around the office – at meetings
- Wireless options
- Portable on business trips
- Instant access to information (wireless or internet connected laptops)
- Access at work to multiple online resources
- Ability to communicate and research at multiple levels
- File sharing and ease of transferring information from one machine to another
- Ability to do group work and collaborative projects/business files etc
- Digital brainstorming, outlining and presentations can be generated within business walls
- Taking notes, which then can be shared immediately
- Data processing, analysis, incorporating databases and spreadsheets
For us a laptop won hands down. The most important for us is that our laptop saves us considerable time and we can have it with us travelling too. So if you want to be able to use a computer wherever you go, then with one of the new laptops you can’t go wrong.
There are many online companies offering excellent laptops, sometimes with special offers. Find out what you need, research online and compare prices.
